Ive recently ran two different polls to try and find out what our clients are after when coming out to hunt in Africa.
The first poll I set out some plains game species that are usually hunted and added a buffalo to the mix. The results were as follow:
As seen from the results the Majestic Kudu took 1st place, this result is not to any surprise as most hunters dream of taking down a trophy Kudu bull. What was surprising was the fact that the Buffalo took 2nd place, this had me thinking a bit and I decided to do another poll.
In 3rd place the Tiny 10 took it and shortly followed by the Nyala. I’ll do another poll to see which one of the Tiny 10 animals people would like to hunt the most. I think these little antelope are really hard to hunt and any client would have to spend allot of time in the African Bush to shoot all 10 of them.
What surprised me here was that the Blue Wildebeest (Poor mans Buffalo) did not receive many votes. Like I mentioned earlier I ran another poll for the Big 5 animals and the results were as follow:
These results were really interesting as the Buffalo took the 1st place here. This just shows us that there is allot of demand for buffalo trophies in our market and if you go and read the Forum on African Hunter most of the replies were fellow hunters dreaming of their own buffalo hunt.
The Elephant took 2nd place and yet again allot of comments were given to how exiting this hunt would be.
Lion and Leopard are neck and neck but the leopard took the 3rd place here. There is not allot of leopard permits out there so bagging one of these is truly an experience of a lifetime.
What was interesting was the little votes the Rhino received. Im sure its got allot to do with the current Rhino poaching issues in Africa, it seems that hunter have also become sensitive towards the Rhino.
